Description of Presentation by Jane Broderick & Beth Huber

In Spring 2014 an exhibit of teaching and learning in the schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy is open to the public in Greenville, SC.  This close proximity provides and excellent opportunity for early childhood practitioners in our region to learn from these Italian educators.  Their practice is based on the ideas that children are competent, that a creative and well-prepared learning environment support the interactions that guide child-initiated and teacher responsive learning.  In this session we will look closely at content in the catalogue of the Wonder of Learning exhibition, studying the creative ideas within and organizing plans for continued study, as well as a visit to Greenville that will take place in May.
